Swiss Air 1C

Ok, now we are talking.

We are in Swiss 1st class, 8 seats. Lisa, I, two others and the Swiss ambassador and his wife.

Drinks. Yes please. Grey Goose Vodka and grapefruit. No problem. Hmm, seems I can't get that at home when I go visiting. And to go with that, a salmon amuse bouche.

Next came the travel kit with assorted stuff, slippers, noise canceling headphones, pajamas...

Then prior to takeoff, seats back, PS3 off, seat lumber adjustment, massage on, and menu selections. Shrimp, crab, beef to start. I need another drink...

Darn, it is under 7 hour flight. A fella could get used to this kind of treatment. Seems to be 3 staff to attend to the 6 of us. I feel for the people in business class behind us...

Bottom line, get an aeroplan card, get your sign up bonus and save up. One must experience this type of travel.

As the lovely attendant set my table, she said "Mr. Sajko, do you want me to set it for two so that your wife can join you. I said if she wishes. Lisa didn't want to sit in the visitor chair. And neither did I want to sit in hers. Funny the ambassador moved to sit with his wife.

Assorted bread with oil and butter, shrimp in mango sauce, crab. And now we are doing some wine tasting. They are killing me. I'll gain 5 pounds on this flight.

Lisa returned from the loo. She noticed there are various hand creams. Seems she put some on her feet. Seems when she has socks on, and is drinking, and on a plane, we are not sure at which elevation, her feet get hot. Now that I spilled the beans on this one, she may start many conversations with me from here on with "off the record...".

Now comes the cheese course. By the time we finish dinner, it will be breakfast time.

With cheese, I had a lovely port wine. The nutty cheese was fantastic. As was the warm chocolat desert with raspberries. I'm now going to see if I can score a decaf skinny vanilla hazelnut latte...

Got my latte, and my choice of a great selection of Swiss chocolate. I now will look so much better to the wild of Africa. Snack wise that is. Nap time.

Oh, Lisa's feet are getting warm again.

Lisa had her seat made into a flat bed with duvet and the works. I stretched out with a simple blanket. Not sure if I slept but an hour and a half passed. We skipped breakfast. It is now 0430 Zulu time or 0530 local time or 0030 ADT.

OK, plane lands, sign say take the train to this extreme corner of the airport to the other. When we get to the lounge there, they said the signs were wrong, you can stay, but eventually you will have to go all the way back.

We are here. And we now wait for our flight to Turkey.

Things come in trees (ie jungle cats) - and of course threes

When we were checking in, I saw this roll of plastic behind each agent. They were like big baggies.

Anyway, I digress...

1. Bomb goes off in Istanbul.
2. The minute I power down all computers, about to head for airport yhz, phone rings. A customer wants web changes. Power up baby.
3. "first class can now board...". The zipper on my Rick Steeves bag breaks. Almost dumped the contents onto the floor. Got a big plastic bag to put it in. Hmm, like a big baggy.

Off the plane in Montreal, luggage store within 50 yards, approx 50 meters for you metric people who have problems converting. Now I have a $30 ah dee das bag. Sweet.

Anyway, eventful already.

FYI Gary. Saw Rob and guy who sat to his left at PPTP meetings. They didn't recognize me until I said "hey".

Relaxing in AC lounge until 1200 Zulu time.
